A Message from Principal Johnson

Dear Kenwood Families,
You may also be reeling from our most recent national tragedies in Kentucky and in Pittsburgh. It is profoundly troubling to me that as we do the important work of raising children to listen, to empathize, to welcome all, and to approach diversity with curiosity and joy, we're also having to explain to our young people the unexplainable. Please know that I'm holding every single member of our school community close to my heart as we grieve the loss of innocent people. Please know that you are essential to who we are at Kenwood.
We will continue to teach empathy, respect, and the importance of advocacy at school, in partnership with you. I know that our future is in good hands because Kenwood kids are learning about the power of kindness, even when there's a difference of opinion.
May our hearts be open to new learning.
May our lips speak truth into the world.
May our hearts know love and our hands do the work of justice,
As we go our way in peace.
With gratitude and deep respect,
Heidi Johnson
