Barn Dance (ROOTS Traditional Dance and Song Residency)
barn_dance-small.JPG

Each fall all students at Kenwood have the opportunity to participate in a residency of traditional dance and music with Dr. Bob Walser, a professor of World Music & a Minneapolis School Board Director. Students sing, dance and move with Dr. Bob as they bring traditional music from cultures around the world to Kenwood School. The week-long residencies conclude with an evening barn dance for students and their families. The barn dance features live music with dances called by Dr. Bob and his wife, Julie Young Walser, who is a Kenwood teacher and talented musician. A great time is had by all at this annual event!
