Hello! I am so happy to be at Kenwood. My name is Sue Maxa but students can call me Ms. Sue at school.
I have been teaching in Minneapolis Schools for 26 years. I have taught 1st through 5th grades, and I know that 3rd grade is my favorite!
I went to the University of WI- Madison for my undergraduate degree where I majored in Geography and Environmental Studies. Later, I got a master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of MN. Before I taught in Minneapolis, I was a naturalist where I worked at nature centers all over the country.
I have a husband and two kids, Simon who is 19 and Clara who is 16. We live with our dog Lola in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis. I also have an identical twin sister who lives in Baltimore.
I love to be outside biking, walking, kayaking, and skiing. My other hobbies include reading, cooking and hosting a radio show.
