My name is Christy Thompson and I teach first grade in room 138.  I am so excited to be a part of the Kenwood school and community!   This will be my 28th year teaching!  It's gone by fast!

I was born in Pontiac, Michigan and moved to MN when I was in preschool.  I grew up in Roseville and after college, lived all over the cities.  I have lived in Richfield for the past 19 years.

I graduated from Augsburg College with degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology.  I received my MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas.  I have taught High-Five, kindergarten, and first grade in both Minneapolis Schools and out in Mound.

Before becoming a licensed teacher, I worked in many daycares and early childhood centers, and was a before/after school supervisor in Minnetonka,  working mainly with 3rd and 4th graders.  I have also worked in an urgent care, in retail, and was a pharmacy technician for 4 years.

I have an amazing family.  I'm married and have two daughters who are in the 9th and

11th grades.

I also have a house full of animals!  We have 3 dogs-a lab & ??? mix named Lexi (she's our trouble maker), a puggle named Eli, and a Lhasa Apso named Harley.

When I get a few minutes of my own, I like to read mysteries.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year with my wonderful and energetic students!  They have always teach ME so much!
