Hi! My name is Anna Klompien and this will be my tenth year of teaching and second year at Kenwood as a teacher. A fun fact, I actually attended Kenwood as an elementary student!
I graduated in 2011 with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in both early childhood education and special education. I then went on to receive my master’s in teaching English as a second language in 2018.
I love teaching kindergarteners and have always found the beginning stages of reading to be a magical time. I am an advocate of learning through nature and personally love being outdoors. I also enjoy singing and playing the ukulele, which will make an appearance often in the classroom. My favorite hobbies include running, biking, swimming, cooking, and reading.
I can’t wait to get to know my students and their families every year. Please reach out to me whenever you need to. My email is anna.klompien@mpls.k12.mn.us and my school phone number (which I can also access at home) is 612-405-9827.
